I am feeling a bit under the weather right now. I don't know if it is this damn cough that I am still trying to fight off, or the weather or, I don't know. I am just feeling really unmotivated. I haven't gone to training since last Thursday. I've been eating like crazy. I have been spending way too much money on food.
That's it. This week I am getting back on my spending schedule, $120/week.
I am getting back on my eating schedule.
I am going to start running at 7:00 a.m. everyday....maybe.
My energy is lagging and I need to do something to stimulate my brain. Now that the weather is getting better I have sailing on the brain. To me, there is nothing better than learning a good hard skill. Excuse me while I tute my own horn for a second, I need it. Here is a short list of the hard skills I have learned: Greek Dancing, Muay Thai, Rafting, Knots, Bouldering, Scuba Diving, Swift Water Rescue, Wilderness First Aid, and CPR.
When ever I get down on myself my Dad would always find a way to get me back on top. If I was hurt or bummed or sad he would usually play and joke and hug and tickle me. Of coarse I hated him for the first minute but eventually he would get me laughing hysterically again. Or when ever I was showing any signs of giving up he would always remind me about how I never thought I would learn to tie my shoe laces. He always goes back to that example, I don't know, I guess I had a really hard time with that. Anyway, this has been a rant, a reminiscence and completely devoid of focus. Well, I'm off now.

My lord, what a weekend...
Emma turns____ and I show her how much I love her by eating and drinking everything in sight. Really though, What an amazing weekend. It was Emma's birthday weekend, so I wanted it to be special.
Friday night we had a cozy night of snuggling on her couch and watching the last episode of Magnum p.i. This was followed by even more snuggles and some weird dreams.
Saturday morning it was rise and shine bright and early. Emma, unfortunately had to go to work, but luckily only for a couple of clients. While she was gone, I re-watched some Magnum and cleaned house a little bit. I then went on a wonderfully long walk with Budrick. I had a few errands to run and he needed to poo so away we went. I had a full day planned for Emma and I so I picked up some lunch from a Mediterranean restaurant on my way back to her place. I also picked up these dreamily delicious truffles from a cafe near my favorite bike shop. I got four because one just isn't enough. When she got home lunch was all arranged and ready to be devoured, which it was.
From her I told her to pack an overnight bag and to get ready to be pampered. We took a cab downtown to a nice little day spa where we were greeted with a glass of wine. Two sweet looking asian women came out to get us and we were escorted to a lovely part of the building that smelled like flowers and was all candle lit and everything. There we were made to get naked and put on these big, white, fluffy robes. From here we were taken to another room, separately of coarse. I was told to get naked and lie face down. The next two hours were divine. I was rubbed down for one hour with a salt scrub. When I say rubbed down I mean rubbed down. Head to toe, front to back and a little in between too. I felt a little weird when she started to rub my legs down. When she got to my upper thigh and butt she took the sheet that was covering my bits and shoved it into my butt crack. She did it just like I'd imagine she would tuck in her kids. Both hands, fingers stiff, and shove.
Anyway, after this I took a shower. I was kind of confused for a bit. I couldn't get the soap off of my skin. Finally I realized that it wasn't soap, it was that the salt scrub had made me so silky smooth that my skin felt like butter. I couldn't stop touching myself. From the shower it was onto the massage table where a girl with milky hands would caress my body for the next hour. Needless to say we left there floating. From here we caught a cab up to Sutter and Gough. I had made a reservation for dinner and a room at Cafe/hotel Majestic. I had no idea what we were in store for. We dropped our bags in our room and headed for the bar. Vodka and wine ensued. May I just take this moment to tell you how much I love wine...so much.
Soon our table was ready. We were seated in a cozy corner surrounded by old couples and a family (who was soon to be replaced by six old couples, all of which were utterly adorable). Wine and oysters to start. Followed by a mid meal soup of something delicious with something else delicious in it (raw salmon), followed by entree's of (hers) seared ono with oven dried tomatoes and basil, (his) pork loin wrapped in bacon and smothered in something dreamy. Followed by...Oh hell, I was tipsy and practically unconscious from all the body rubbing and wine that all I can remember is that it was so damn good. We were brought little tastes of everything in between coarses and Amy, our server would bring out a different glass of wine for each plate. A.M.A.Z.I.N.G.
We went back up to the room with some more wine and took a wonderful bath. We had plans to play battle ship but those plans were switched with others.
In the morning we walked for what seemed like miles and miles, oh, wait, it was miles and miles. What the hell do you have to do in San Francisco to catch a cab on a Sunday??? Anyway, Sunday was filled with laying down, spooning on the couch, shopping, eating, mimosa's, walking, riding bikes, more truffles, more snuggling and more Magnum p.i.
I beautiful weekend for a beautiful girl.

Morning weight.....blegh.
Currently: At work. Shoes off. Chinese food for breakfast. Won ton soup. Sticky rice. Pork bun. Listening to Tegan and Sera.
Fan on. Wishing I were in bed.
Deep in the back of my head, on the back of my brain I can feel the residual smile from knowing that Muay Thai is better than boxing. Or MMA. It feels like my brain is bending. I love my sport.
When I think of the word comfortable I think of wrinkled covers. Ripples in a bed spread/comforter. Something slept in.
I like camaraderie. There isn't enough of that in my life. It's rare to find a group that can work well together. I often think about the activities I do, my complete dedication, appreciation, and love for them and how that conflicts with the contempt that I have for many of their participants. Rafting=I hate hippies. Climbing=I hate urban hippies even more. Muay Thai=I can't put my finger on who or what they are, but I just don't see myself connecting with any one of them. It has been this way for a long time. Since I was about fourteen. Maybe it is an American thing.
This has been your Friday rant.

An aside
Can I just tell you, you know, just for the sake of telling you, someone, anyone, that I absolutely cannot stand all those little card board, perferated inserts that they put into magazines. I like my magazines clean, neat, and to flip smoothly. I feel that page flippage consistency says a lot about a publication. Consequently so does a forrests worth of little inserts that fall all over my lap when I am flipping through. Get a clue pubs. And stop wasting paper.

Morning weight: 192.5
Breakfast: Grans and yo, what else?? (300 cal)
Lunch: Something with my Mom, don't know yet but I'll tell you when I get back.
Update: I'm back. Oh damn. I just had a full on Chinese feast. The wait staff, yes it took more than one person to bring all of our food, kept saying "Too much food. You order too much food." I think it embarrassed my mom a little bit, but what ever, I now have food for a few days. We ate pork and veggie buns, sweet pork loins, wan tan soup, seaweed fish wraps, minced pork wrapped in egg noodle, lamb (I think they included the esophagus, which, if you've been reading since my Fiji blogs, isn't a big deal), crap dumplings, rice with sausage and pork wrapped in lotus leaves, and some other stuff that I couldn't identify.
DInner: I really want to make these ribs but I keep getting home too late. Damn it, damn it, I want these ribs. Update: After that lunch, I don't think I'll want those ribs any more.
Will I be able to do my evening work out??? We'll see after the jump.....just kidding, there are no jumps on this blog. I just kinda like saying 'after the jump'. But really, we will see if I can roll my lardy butt to training.

Monday.3.March.2008
Breakfast: 1/2 cup granola and 1/2 cup soy milk (250 cal)
Lunch: Roasted herb chicken thigh and drumstick and roasted herb vegies
Snack: A handful of lightly salted cashews
Dinner: Ah hell, I really messed this one up. No afternoon excersize, and no evening workout and to top it off, for dinner I had not 1, not 2, but three puff pastry eclaire type things filled to the top with their wonderful vanilla sweet goo. As if matters weren't already bad enough I went ahead and ordered a butt load of popcorn at the movies too. I saw No Country For Old Men, by the way. Beautiful flick.
Evening workout: I already told you, I didn't do squat. You can bet I'll be making that up tomorrow. That's right, I got a 6 a.m. date with the pavement. We'll see how far I can run befor I puke. See you tomorrow.
