I woke up with a tiny sore throat this morning. Bummer huh??? Kinda, but whatevs...I still have to go to work. About a half an hour into work the receptionist brings back a little package.
"Your James, right??"
Uh huh.
"Someone brought this in for you."
Immediately I knew who it was from. I mean, it was in a Bumble and Bumble bag for crying out loud.
I peek inside and find two Emergen-C packets, a shot of wheat grass, an apple, a bottle of Kombucha, and a nice little card.
My GF brought me a sick care package. I've said it before, I'll say it again....I have the best GirlFriend in the frickin world.

I got moted and you are made of iron
Old Chinese women are the toughest most confident people on the planet.
Have you ever seen an 80 year old woman carry seventeen grocery bags twenty blocks up 80% grade hills???
Or refuse to move to the side when walking down a crowded street and just shoulder (or occasionally poke) people out of their way???
Or elbow someone twice their size so that they can cut in line and pay for the food that they haven't even ordered yet???
Or mean mug...there is no meaner mug than that of an 80 year old Chinese woman watching you incorrectly order Dim Sum.
Dang, I kinda wish I could grow up to be an 80 year old Chinese woman.

Could you tell???
I don't know if you could tell, but my last couple of posts were pretty forced. I have been trying to get my average up.
Things I can't deny:
1. I really like to organize....and then re-organize.
2. I like clean spaces and am kinda anal that way.
3. I will always be earlier than you. I hate this one most of all. Punctuallity is a curse.
4. I love routine.
5. I fall for girls real quick.
6. I fall out even quicker.
7. I am mostly scared. I have bouts of confidence...but I am still mostly scared.
8. I am a procrastonator....see, I even lagged on learning how to spell the word procrastonator....or er....or I don't really care, I learn it soon enough.
9. I am a compulsive eater.
and ten. Two ton. Two tone. Transcontinental trucks, with trailers. Traveling from Tallahassee to Tyler, Texas. On Texaco's True Test, and twenty two terrible tires.
10. I am a sucker for all things romantic/sappy/sad/passionate/happy/tragic/tear jerky/you just name it and I'll cry to it.

I am so sick of this damp weather. It's GD aweful. I think that at some point in my life I will need to live an a tropic or sub tropic environment. I also need to buy a boat and learn to eat directly from the sea. John, I know you are with me on this one. Lets learn to sail.

As of late
The more I think about it, the more I want to get back into fighting or at least training again. I don't know. I just feel like Muay Thai is in my body and blood. I need it, and I don't feel like I am complete with out it. It is just such a huge fee. Damn gymns are too expensive.
these things suck
Night time dates suck for getting to know each other. They are good for getting your date drunk. Getting yourself drunk. Making out. Eating a meal. Being awkward. Trying your hardest to be funny. Being even more awkward. Not really listening. Going home feeling like a failure.
Body heat, flesh touch, breath and scent.
I used to not cuddle. Not to sleep that is. Don't get me wrong, I am probably the most affectionate person alot of people know. But I need my space for sleeping. I am also a furnace when I sleep. It could be 10 degrees outside but if I have someone sleeping next to me I need those windows open...
(aside: I realize as I am writing this that I don't even care about the subject matter and if I don't care I can't expect you to give a rats ass either)
In summation I guess what I am trying to get at is that I have met my match. I have met the one who, even as I sleep, I cannot let go of. I have never had so much fun waking up, dozing off, and waking up.
I could go on about this and other things but my mom might read this.

I am back in the city now
So I have a new place on Geary btwn Van Ness and Polk. I love my new hood...even though my heart will always be in the Lower (not upper) haight. I am still lacking a lap top so my internet time has been greatly reduced.
I also have an amazingly pretty, wonderful new girlfriend. She does hair at Edo Salon in my old hood. The first week we were dating I was flipping through a mag while on the toilet and stumbled across her picture and interview. You have no idea how cool that feels. To this day I still feel like I am dating a celeb...I would probably still feel that way had I not found the article. I'm so proud/falling for/cannot do with out my gf.
I also have a new job. I am now working at a great little ad agency in Jackson Square. Amazon Advertising. I work as the Production Assistant, I am also involved with new business and account planning. I am so stoked to be here. While I do miss riding my bike and rafting and being outside barefooted and bare chested working with such awesome people and on such great accounts makes it worth it. I feel like this could turn into one of those life altering/lessons learned/personal development experiences.
Lets see, other than that....
DreamWorld=Lots of bike dreams.
Thats it...

Blank
Last night someone died outside my window.
I was reading my book, waiting to get lost and block out the sounds of thugs rapping, fighting and drinking in the street. Finally, I reached the point where all I could hear is the hhhhhrrrrrrmmmmmm of my refrigerator. I don't even remember falling off to sleep.
At 3:34, I remember because I always look at the clock first thing when I open my eyes, my building shook violently from an explosion in the street. I could feel how weakened my building had become. How the walls could come down at any second. I look over and see that there is light shining in through the cracks in my closet. In a state of confusion and panic I choose this as my escape route. It finally occurs to me that, in my confused state, I might be mistaking my closet for my window for my door.
A change of plan. I rip a pair of slacks from their hanger, I was naked up to this point, and begin leaping across my room and tugging and pulling them up my legs. Lights are flashing in through my window, shots are being fired. I can hear shouts and glass breaking across the street. With my slacks finally fastened I leap across the hallway into the bathroom. It's dark in here. And then the silence hits me. Quiet. Still. Nothing moves. As I creep back into my bedroom to investigate I almost expected my furniture to be panicking at their inability to flee. To look to me to help them out. But nothing. They just sit their. Like nothing happened. I take off my slacks, lie them over the back of the chair and sit at the foot of my bed for what seems like an hour but I'm sure is only a few minutes. Just sitting, holding my face in my hands. Waiting for my nerves to settle so that I can go back to sleep.
