Sunday Roast

The roommates and I have been like ships passing in the night lately. I've got school coming to an end, Lora's swamped at work and in the midst of a new relationship and Mark has a critical paper coming out very soon. Needless to say we've all missed each others company. A few weeks ago Mark threw out the idea to do a Sunday roast. We all needed a day to decompress so we picked a date and let it evolve. Over the next week or so we all decided on a menu, pita, veggies and hummus to start, seasoned and roasted beets, carrots, brussel sprouts, leeks and potatoes, boneless leg of lamb as a main coarse. To finish it off we made, and by we I mean Lora, an apple crumble with ice cream and custard.

Mark, in the throws of a mint and malt vinegar frenzy. Which I must say I had my doubts about but which actually turned out to be one of the highlights of the meal.

Lora, handles the meat.

Dinner is served.

Yes, we have a cow gravy boat at the house.

Enjoying the amazing Hess wine that our recent, and totally
awesome house guests Jim and Kerry left us.
Thanks you two, come visit again soon.

After clean up we all sat around, read the papers, did soduku, and lounged on the couch. We also read our fortunes by melting wax and spilling into cool water. Not sure how accurate this method is as my last fortune depicted me as Santa Clause. We finished the night off with the crumble, custard and ice cream and the film UP. It was a true day of leisure.
